BUS AND COACH TRAVEL
The easiest way to get to ROME from Abruzzo, is to take the bus. They leave roughly every hour from Pescara bus station. Tickets can be bought in advance online, and can cost as little as €5 if bought around 1 month before travel. The usual price is €15, so well worth it, not having to pay motorway tolls or worrying about coping with the Roman drivers! See here for more details and timetable, from the Arpa bus company.
There is also a direct bus service from Teramo to Rome, if you are travelling from the north of Abruzzo, using the Baltour coach company.
